O Mighty Lord of Man and jinn
True it is we day and night sin

Our worldly greed knows no measure
We feed our belly with much pleasure

Yet we dream of matters high and great
Beggars we are- knocking at the King’s gate

Here I present to You such a desire
Foolish I am though daring to aspire

Let my name be heard before the Beloved
When my greetings to him is swiftly delivered

Jaihoon’s is not a name of any saintly merit
But to be heard there shall such status inherit

The Beloved is that ‘Bag of Honey’
‘Drops are the sages who from it fell’

May the Beloved while on earth know
That my name is son of so and so

So that on the Last Day
He will near the Lake recall
When out of thirst for a single drop
I shall helplessly crawl

O Allah!
Sound my name in Your Beloved’s ears
Suffice it is to live in Paradise for years
