It is not only nature and its resources that needs to be conserved. Words, too, demand similar care and caution while we use them for our exchange of ideas, reminds Mujeeb Jaihoon

Words: Shapes & Shades

Words have different shapes and shades of meanings. Be it song, speech or recitation of Holy Book, these are all composed of words. They form the integral part of any communication exchange between humans.

LOCs and Creativity

Word is not so simple a thing. Especially under the new World Order. Besides, Social Media is the culmination of Words & Technology. Never before in history has words become so dirt-cheap, literally. Not one bashful barbwire to bar our blunderbuss blabber. In fact, those subtle LOCs illuminate the lanes of our creative highway. Without controls, our thoughtful kites are string-broken and lost to the winds of distraction. Creative energy will only boost when disciplined by a conductive ambiance.

Words and Meanings

It is important that the speaker utter words that are in the domain of understanding of the listener. Alternatively, the same applies for the latter to understand the same meaning intended by the former. The success of communication is based on this dual win. In addition, audible sounds qualify to be words only when they become meaningful.

Quran and Words

The Quran is the only Holy Book with a single edition since its Revelation. In spite, the Holy Book makes only a passing reference to some of the crucial matters of human existence. Brevity, thus, is an essential spirit of the Book of Allah. Man, hence, should also use words sparingly. Care and caution goes in the usage of words. The value of a word is invaluable. It is not only nature and its resources that needs to be conserved. Words, too, demand similar care and caution while we use them for our exchange of ideas.

Color of Words

Relationships often color the choice of our words. Respect, love and concern are only some of them. Words are like photos. Both should be framed to match the background.

Prophetic Speech: Big sense. Nano Size.

However, there are certain exceptional souls whose speech gain beauty and relevance across time and minds. The words of Prophet of Islam, again of incredible brevity, is an example. Brief in size but voluminous in sense, the speech of Amina’s Beloved Son is a cosmic ocean of wisdom for the knowledge-thirsty sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. One shouldn’t wonder, then, if the same speech equally inspires the scientist, entices the poet and illuminates the philosopher.

Every word has a Divine value and relevance. Thus, each deserve respect of their own.
