The first and foremost phrase we hear along with career is guidance. This talk is not so. It centers, instead, on disrupting the myth— a good job with a lavish pay is the basis of all happiness in life.

Happiness. Beyond the Salary SMS

It is true that salary is the key expectation from a job, although soft rewards such as recognition from colleagues and superiors also play a minor role in raising the bar of joy. In a month consisting of 30 days, the salary credit SMS only comes on a single day to cheer us up. What about the rest of the 29 days? This disruptive discourse attempts to focus on the latter. How to transform your life worth living throughout the whole month— that is the million-dollar question!

Hefty Stress Tag

Every job comes with the hefty stress tag. Firms hire to get their job done in the time and manner they conclude is profitable in their books. Not at the employee’s discretion or disposition. Corporates do not give a dime about their employee’s personal happiness.

Planning vs. Wishing for Happiness

Under the changing circumstances with disruptive technological advancements, it would be better to wish, and not plan, for a happy life ahead. A good job guarantees a modest salary; with more money at hand, you assume to have buy more fortunes and thereby become happy— that is a plan. However, expecting a happy life, with or without these perks– that is a wish.

Planning is cost-conscious process, not so wishing. You may wish as much as you want.

Planning without Wishing is bound to fail.

While wishing is with the heart, planning is the work of the brain.

Wishing is reality-beyond while Planning is reality-bound.

Greatness by Wish. Not Plan

World’s best scientists, poets and politicians were supreme wishers. Never so planners. They were driven by wishes more than limited by plans.

Wishes fire and inspire the individuals’ potential, while plans limit and defeat his power.

Wishing is a macro perspective, while planning is at micro level.

Mahatma Gandhi wished for the freedom of India; he never planned for its liberation.

Market-centric Knowledge

The Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein we know were not products of career planning, but of magical wishing. Never plan for a life based on job market alone. Market is the domain of bewitching fluctuations. Knowledge should not be just market-centric. True knowledge will never become irrelevant, whatsoever be the economic swings. A modest command of Liberal Arts, therefore, should be a basic ingredient of any individual’s survival kit. Language, especially, is the king of knowledge. However, an adequate set of skills would also become handy. You will mostly succeed in the areas of your Interest. Interest. Interest.

Money in Hand. Worth two in the Banks

Wish for a happy and gratifying life. Do not plan for a job with specific $ package in mind. The two are worlds apart in proportion. True wealth is that which benefits its owner WHEN he NEEDS it. Money usable in hand is worth the two ‘unreachable’ in the banks.

The décor arrangements in homes follow a similar paradox. The joy in the house will be dependent on the strength of love and compassion between its members, with least relation to the color or fabric of its wall decor.

Triviality: Wrinkles on Dream Realization

Non-seriousness is often the biggest hurdle affecting the fulfilment of the youths’ wishes. They are neither serious about sports nor even love. Unfortunately, everything in life is taken lightly.

Wishing for a Dream is just the Vehicle. Commitment, its mobilizing fuel. Talent will become a wrecked Ship if not propelled by the Commitment-Sail. Kerala is flooded with catastrophic talents. What is lacking are the dams of Commitment.
