Ramadan 2009 : Day 1
Jaihoon’s journal on the Holy Month
Oh! I wish I could build a masjid like the one where I pray Tarawih! The Jami’ is so finely built, so magnificently spacious, so elegantly designed… No. Not for any of these. The countless prostrations of Allah’s servants which touch its floors. That is the most envious part. Imagine the reward of its builder. Suppose the Return On Investment it derives. It is recurring unlike other worldly investments which are only one time profits.
At fajr, the Imam recited the part which had the verse “If My servants ask you about Me, I am near. I answer the call of the caller when he calls on Me. They should therefore respond to Me and believe in Me so that hopefully they will be rightly guided.
(Surat al-Baqara: 186)
I smiled in prayer. Allah inspired a new lovely meaning in my silly heart. How majestic is Allah, how charming is his Beloved. Only Allah can describe love in such a way. The meaning I felt is only one of those zillion meaning it can have. If Allah wills, I will reveal it to my friends at a later time.
