June 03 2013: With the aim of unifying Madrasa system and increasing the efficiency of institutions, the Kerala government is considering setting up a Madrasa board under the government similar to those in other Indian states, said Abdur Rabb, the Kerala Education minister. He was speaking at the certificate awarding ceremony for the Farsi language short term course offered by Darul Huda Islamic University.

He also said that the Government will provide grants to the Madrasa institutions and assured full support to further the cause of holistic education of DHIU. The government is also trying to reduce the exodus of students to neighboring states due to lack of educational opportunities in Kerala, added the Minister.
