Islam and Freedom of Thought

This in short is the case of the progressives who talk about freedom of thought. For them freedom of thought is synonymous to freedom of disowning one’s God. This is, however, not freedom of thought but freedom of atheism. Starting with these premises they accuse Islam of restricting the freedom of thought simply because it prohibits atheism. But the question is: Is freedom of thought and atheism one and the same thing, and is atheism really a necessary precondition to the freedom of thought? Misled by the history of European liberalism they overlook the fact that if certain local circumstances necessitated the spread of atheism in Europe, this does not mean that the same thing should happen everywhere in the world.

Creation Of Worship From Benevolence

When knowledge of man about God is correct and he finds all the favors, small and great having flowed from Him on his outward as well on his inward and finds the Lord of benevolence more noble, more worthy and more glorious than any of the creatures in glory and nobility then that all cannot be valued and compared with the amount of love coupled with veneration and humbleness which man bears for Him.

The feeling fades, but a mark it leaves

(Iqbal’s observations on Mystic Experience)
The mystic’s intimate association with the eternal which gives him a sense of the unreality of serial time does not mean a complete break with serial time. The mystic state in respect of its uniqueness remains in some way related to common experience. This is clear from the fact that the […]

The impact of Iqra Revolution on the development of Information Technology

The Holy Qur’an as a religious text pioneered the concept of education technology by mentioning ‘Pen’ as the first non-living object in the Revelation. This demonstrates the importance of ‘Technology’ in furthering education (Information) for the benefit of humanity.
It is worth mentioning here that the Creator did not mention about stars or cars, earth or heavens among the first objects. Instead He opted for a very simple thing, i.e. the Pen. A more deeper analysis of the above verses reveal that the use of Pen is cited as among the bounties of Almighty. It is out of His generosity that teaching is made possible via the pen.

Iqbal: The Interpreter of Truth

No one knew that after the late Ghalib, some one would rise in India who would again inspire Urdu poetry with a new spirit and through whom the matchless imagination and the rare imagery of Ghalib would be created anew and would lead to the glorification of the Urdu literature. However, Urdu was fortunate in getting a poet of Iqbal’s caliber, the superiority of whose literary elegance has impressed the Urdu knowing people of the whole of India and whose reputation has spread to Iran, Asia Minor and even to Europe.
