“കേവലം ഭക്തന്മാര്‍ക്ക്‌ ഈ അനുഭൂതി ഉണ്ടാകാം. ചിന്തകന്മാര്‍ക്കും ഉണ്ടാകാം. പ്രകടന സമര്‍ത്ഥരായ ആളുകള്‍ക്ക്‌ അനുഭൂതി ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ അതിനൊരു ആവിഷ്കരണം നല്‍കാനായി ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. അത്‌ എളുപ്പമല്ലെന്ന്‌ അവര്‍ക്കറിയാം. എങ്കിലും എങ്ങനെയെങ്കിലും ആവിഷ്കരിച്ചേ തീരൂ. അത്ര മഹത്താണ്‌ ആ അനുഭവം. ഒടുവില്‍ ഒരു വിധത്തില്‍ അവര്‍ ആവിഷ്കരിക്കുന്നു.”

ജയ്ഹൂന്‍ ഒരു നദി മാത്രമല്ല

നമുക്ക്‌ അന്യമാവുന്ന വിചാര രീതികളെ നമ്മില്‍ തന്നെ കുടികൊള്ളുന്ന അരൂപിയായ സര്‍ഗ്ഗശക്തിയുടെ ചാട്ടവാറു കൊണ്ട്‌ ഒരാള്‍ ആഞ്ഞടിക്കുകയാണ്‌. വേദനയുടെ മധുരവും ഈ കഥയും നമ്മുടെതുതന്നെയാണെന്ന്‌ ഓരോ വായനക്കാരനെക്കൊണ്ടും ഏറ്റു പറയിക്കുകയാണ്‌. വായനയുടെ മാറുന്ന രീതികളില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ പുറന്തോട്‌ പൊളിച്ച്‌ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റിന്റെ സാധ്യതകളിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചിങ്ങോട്ടും നമ്മെ ആനയിക്കുന്ന ജയ്ഹൂന്‍ മാന്ത്രികയെക്കുറിച്ച്‌

We need the Spirituality to resist Imperialism

Imperialism and consumerism are enemies of humanity. It is the duty of a writer to protest against them. It is in the interest of humanity to voice support for those who are hunted unjustly. Humanity has become cheap in the eyes of those who see everything in a material way. Woman has become the best commodity of sale. I wish to share the message of Divine Love in place of the love expressed for purely selfish ends. Love is no love at all, if for God is not a role.

Every Sunnah is Dhikr

O My Son! This time of yours is a great opportunity. And opportunity is a great blessing. Times passed in good health and without anxiety are rare windfalls. You must spend each hour with the dhikr of Allahu ta’ala. Every deed, even if it is shopping, which is agreeable with Rasulullah, is dhikr. Then, every action, every attitude must be agreeable with Rasulullah. In this case all will be dhikr

Sainthood not about miracles

Wali of high grade may be given no karamats or khariqas, or, karamats are given in order to increase yaqin (belief). A person blessed with yaqin does not need karamats or khariqas. All these karamats are inferior to the dhikr of Dhat-i ilahi and to the heart’s being ornamented with this dhikr

The Contribution of Rabia Al-Adawiyyah in Sufism

She was a representative of that particular style of Sufism which grew in her time. Separation from her family in her childhood made her live a life of slavery. This in turn enabled her to accomplish her goal, i.e. complete devotion and full submission in the service of Allah. Her contribution was highlighted by later Sufis without any thought of her being a woman and they considered her a prominent Sufi. Particularly her concept of selfless - love with God is noteworthy. New Models of Islamic Education in Kerala

It is evident that Mappilas had moved ahead in the past along with the changes in the educational trends of international Muslim community, but with adjustments and accommodations needed in the cultural atmosphere they lived in. An analysis of their pre-20th century history shows that they had developed three kinds of educational systems to impart education at primary, higher and mass levels. Othupallies, better translated as Maktabs or writing schools, served as the schools of primary education teaching the children all the preliminary knowledge about Islam that is compulsory for every individual to know, with a special emphasis on Qur’an recitation. ‘Palli Darses’ or mosque-colleges served as knowledge centres producing religious scholars who could lead the community, teach its next generation and maintain the intellectual tradition intact. ‘Palli’ is the local word for Muslim mosques and Christian Churches, whereas Dars comes from one of the Arabic word for teaching and learning.
