Jewish emigration to Palestine

In the year 1869, as a result of pressures exerted by the European countries over the Ottoman State, due to its piled up debts and its weakness, the latter issued a law, that allowed the foreigners, whether they were individuals, institutions, or companies to have properties, and in all lands of the State, whether inside cities or outside them. Thus such permission to the foreigners to possess lands in Palestine was a source of anxiety to the peasants and the people of the country, because it was the offset to the Jewish infiltration and the buying of lands under the foreign protection and prerogatives. The Zionist greed in buying lands started, where they began to tempt the peasants and big feudal lords from the foreigners to sell their lands, the peasants began to feel worried about the fate of their lands and lives.

‘സിയോണ്‍’ എന്ന പര്‍വ്വത്തില്‍ നിന്നാണ്‌ ‘സയണിസം’ എന്ന പദം ഉടലെടുക്കുന്നത്‌. ഈ പര്‍വ്വത നിര സിയോണുകളുടെ ആരാധനാ കേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന്‌ പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. പത്തൊമ്പതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനത്തിലാണ്‌ ലോകത്ത്‌ സയണിസ്റ്റ്‌ പ്രസ്ഥാനം ഉടലെടുക്കുന്നത്‌. ഇവരുടെ അടിസ്ഥാന വാദങ്ങള്‍ മൂന്നെണ്ണമാണ്‌. ഒന്ന്‌; യഹൂദര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ തെരെഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ജനതയാണ്‌. രണ്ട്‌; ലോകവും അതിലുള്ളത്‌ മുഴുവനും യഹൂദരുടെ സ്വന്തം സ്വത്താണ്‌. വേറൊരാള്‍ക്കും അവയില്‍ കൈവെക്കാനവകാശമില്ല. മൂന്നാമതായി ഫലസ്തീനിലെ വിശുദ്ധ മണ്ണിലേക്കുള്ള മടക്കം അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടതാണ്‌. ഈ കപട വാദമുഖങ്ങളിലാണ്‌ സയണിസത്തിന്റെ അടിത്തറ വാര്‍ത്തിട്ടുള്ളത്‌.

Islam and Non-Muslim Communities

In addition, Islamic faith strives to strengthen the links connecting the non-Muslims to visit them and to eat their food, which is the custom of close friends.

Religion : The opium of the People

It should also be mentioned that all the liberation movements in the Islamic East were inspired by Islam. The resistance of the Egyptian people against French occupation was led by Muslim scholars (Ulama). The rebellion against the injustice of Mohammad Ali was advocated by a religious leader, Omar Makram. The rebellion against the British occupation of Sudan was led by Al-Mahdi, still another religious leader. The rebellion against the Italians in Libya and the French in Morocco as well as the Kashani Revolution against the British occupation, all these were rebellions inspired by and launched in the name of Islam. Every rebellion in the Islamic East contains evidence to show that Islam is a great liberating force directed against all forms of injustice and humiliation.

Islam and the concept of Punishment

Some people often say, “Can we apply today the same barbarous punishments which were applied long ago in the desert? Is it permissible to cut a thief’s hand for five shillings? Could such things take place in the twentieth century, which regards the criminal as the victim of society and maintains that he is entitled to medical treatment rather than punishment?” How is it that the twentieth century permits the slaughter of forty thousand innocent people in North Africa but forbids the rightful punishment of one single criminal!!

ISLAM AND THE CLASS SYSTEM

The clergy had their own distinctive clothes. In those ages the power of the church was equal and at times opposed to that of kings and emperors. The Pope claimed that it was he who confer­red power on kings but they strove to get rid of his influence in order to rule independently. Owing to the property donated by the religious people and the exactions imposed on them, the church became so rich that at times it could have armies of its own. On the other hand, the nobility inherited nobleness from their forefathers and passed it on to their descendants. A man belonged to the nobility by birth and remained as such until his death regardless of whatever noble or mean actions he might have done in his lifetime.

ISLAM AND CAPITALISM

Capitalism was imported into the Islamic world at a time when it was under European domination. Together with the wave of development, it spread into the Islamic world which suffered from poverty, ignorance, illness and backwardness. This made some people think that Islam approves of capitalism, with both its evils and merits. They also claim that there are no provisions in the Islamic law or regulations such as might be in conflict with capitalism. They argue that as Islam permitted individual ownership it must likewise permit capitalism.

ISLAM AND FEUDALISM

Recently when I heard that a student wrote a thesis wherein he “proved” that Islam was a feudalistic system and received his Master’s Degree, I was deeply surprised. The performance of both the student as well as the professors awarding him the degree was equally mystifying. But the student might well be excused on the plea that he was either ignorant of what he was writing about or did so out of ill-will towards Islam, but what about the learned teachers? How are we to account for their conduct, their knowledge of the socio-economic system of Islam, and their understanding of history?

ISLAM AND SLAVERY

Perhaps this is the most odious form of doubt exploited by the communists in order to shake the faith of the Muslim youth in his religion, Islam. If Islam were suited to every period of human history, it would not, as it did, approve of slavery, which proves conclusively that Islam was but meant for a limited period of history only. It has fulfilled its mission and now stands outmoded and ob­solete for it was not designed to be a religion for all times and climes.

ലോകം കടുത്ത വെല്ലുവിളികള്‍ക്കുമുമ്പിലാണ്‌ . എങ്ങും ഉയരുന്ന കലാപ-കലഹങ്ങളുടെ പുകച്ചുരുളുകള്‍ക്കു പുറമെ നമ്മുടെ ഈ യുദ്ധഭൂമിയെ തുറിച്ച്‌ നോക്കുന്നത്‌ നിരവധി ഗുരിതരമായ വെല്ലുവിളികളാണ്‌ . അവയുടെ പരിഹാരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു്‌ ആലോചിക്കുമ്പോഴാകട്ടേ , ഓരോരുത്തരും ശരിക്കും വിയര്‍ക്കുകയാണ്‌ . ആഗോള താപനം , വിലക്കയററം തുടങ്ങിയ ചോദ്യഛിഹ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുമ്പിലേക്കാണ്‌ ഇപ്പോള്‍ അതിലേറേ വലിയ ഫണമുയര്‍ത്തിക്കൊണ്ട്‌ കടുത്ത ഭക്ഷ്യപ്രതിസന്‌ധി കടന്നു വരുന്നത്‌ .

Preface

The majority of the modern “educated” people are today faced with a religious crisis. Is religion really a fact of life? It might have been one in the past, but does it still remain so in the world of today when science has changed the whole course of life, and when there is no place in it for anything save science and what scientific facts approve of? Does religion represent a genuine need of humanity? Or is it something wholly dependent upon the temperamental constitution of an individual so that one may not believe in it as there is no difference between the two states of belief and unbelief ‘?

The Arabs Must Win

The temporary success achieved by Zionism in the War of June, 1967, cannot be treated as a victory of one call or message, philosophy or religion, over another. The Jews have never had a message for the world, nor have they one today. The Battle fought on June 5th, 1967, was also not a confrontation between Islam and Judaism, not even between the Jews and the Arabs were in fact, never allowed to participate in the struggle: they were kept at arm’s length, in accordance with a well-calculated plot, to deny them any effect role in this confrontation. The so-called victory of the Jews was, thus, at its best, a success gained by a realistic and intelligent leadership over a miscalculating and worthless dictatorship. There is no denying the fact that at least for once in their history, after thousands of years, the Jews were fortunate enough to have such persons as their leaders who were able to raise them from ignominy and disgrace. They, undoubtedly, created history. It is a misfortune for the Arabs that their leadership was unable to do justice to them and to their history. Their leaders pushed them between the devil and the deep blue sea, and now they can neither retreat nor go forward.

Muslim deviance? Gimme a break

Few, if any, in the Western leadership seem to make the point that Al Qaeda is a deviant phenomenon within the Islamic world, just as Hitler was a deviant phenomenon within the Christian world (commentators seem to overlook Hitler’s early speeches calling on Catholic principles). But Islam has a much better record over the ages (despite its founder being far more warlike than the founder of Christianity) of dealing with its deviants who take violence to excess.

The Fifteen Century Hijri

The Calendar of Islam neither begins with the birth of the Prophet, nor with his death, but instead with his migration. This means that whenever a new Islamic century begins, it brings a Message for you. It does not remind you of any person or class of persons, but refreshes your memory of the great cause for which the Prophet (peace be upon him) left his hearth and home to settle down in a new city. It was undoubtedly a great cause — a great Message — which took him there, not meant for the safety of his own life nor that of his Companions. The step was taken to preserve and deliver the Message of God to the whole of mankind.

ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരുടെ മുസ്ലിം വിരോധം ശരിക്കുംമനസ്സിലാക്കുകും ശക്തമായ പോരാട്ടങ്ങപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്ത മഹാനാണ്‌ മമ്പുറം സയ്യിദ്‌ അലവി തങ്ങള്‍. പോര്‍ച്ചുഗീസുകാര്‍ വളരെ പരസ്യമായിത്തന്നെ തങ്ങളുടെ മുസ്ലിം വിദ്വേഷം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും തന്ത്രപരമായി കരുക്കള്‍ നീക്കി മുസ്ലിംകളെ അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരുടെ നയം. യൂറോപ്പില്‍ നടത്തി പരാജയപ്പെട്ട കുരിശ്‌ യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായിരുന്നു പോര്‍ച്ചുഗീസുകാര്‍ ചെന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം മുസ്ലിംകള്‍ക്കെതിരെ അക്രമങ്ങള്‍ അഴിച്ചുവിട്ട നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്‌. ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരും അതുതന്നെ ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു.

Beware of the emergence of a European or American Islam

As Shah Waliullah has admirably put it, “Had the Haj not been there, the Islamic faith and the Muslims of the East and the West would have been the victims of change and alteration, like the other religions, and it would not have been discovered for ages.”
So, brothers, beware of the emergence of a local or territorial Islam and the establishment of Islamic societies that are devoid of the spirit of Islam and built upon foundations that are not genuinely Islamic. Believe me, it is not a figment of my imagination. I attach the highest importance to it, and, I am sure, when you will go home and think over it you will appreciate the gravity and magnitude of the danger I have indicated.

The World of Islam Today

The moral and spiritual stamina of Muslims is being continuously sapped, sometimes through the generous supply of foreign teachers, social workers and technocrats, sometimes through a liberal provision of the wrong kind of literature which can only disturb indigenous people’s peace of mind and encourage doubt and disbelief by arousing what is worst in man, and, sometimes, through campaigns like the popularisation of television in the name of raising standards of living and making life more worthwhile.

ഇപ്പോള്‍ നടക്കുന്ന സംസ്ഥാനസമ്മേളനത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച്‌ മദര്‍ തെരേസായുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടു. അതുപോലെതന്നെ പള്ളിയുടെയും മോസ്കിന്റെയുമെല്ലാം ചിത്രീകരണങ്ങളും.

ഒരു വശത്ത്‌ ഈശ്വരനാമത്തില്‍ നിയമസഭാംഗങ്ങള്‍ സത്യ പ്രതി ജ്ഞ ചെയ്യുന്നത്‌ അപമാനകരമാ ണന്നു പറഞ്ഞു വച്ചിട്ടു അധികകാലമായിട്ടില്ല. മറ്റൊരു എം. എല്‍.എ കൂദാശ സ്വീകരിച്ചുവെന്നു ഒരാള്‍ പറഞ്ഞത്‌ മോശമായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതും അടുത്തയിടെയാണല്ലോ. ഒരു കാലത്ത്‌ മദര്‍തെരേസായുടെ ജീവകാരുണ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ മുതലാളിത്തത്തെ നിലനിര്‍ത്തുന്നതിനാണന്നു പറഞ്ഞവര്‍ മദറിന്റെ സംസ്കാരചടങ്ങുകള്‍ ആഘോഷമാക്കി, ഇപ്പോള്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നു!

1857 : ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനതയുടെ ആദ്യത്തെ മഹത്തായ സമരം

2007 മെയ്‌ മാസത്തില്‍ ഒന്നാം ഇന്ത്യന്‍ സ്വാതന്ത്രസമരത്തിന്റെ വാര്‍ഷികം അഘോഷിക്കുകയാണ്‌. ഈ സന്ദര്‍ഭത്തില്‍ 1857ലെ കലാപത്തിന്‌ മുന്നോടിയായി നടന്ന പല സുപ്രധാന്‍ സംഭവങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയും വിലയിരുത്തേണ്ടതുണ്ട്‌. 1857ലെ വിപ്ലവത്തിന്‍ മുമ്പ്‌ ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യയില്‍ 40ലേറെ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ്‌ വിരുദ്ധ കലാപങ്ങളുണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. ഇതൊക്കെ പല ചരിത്രകാരന്മാരും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയതുമാണ്‌. ഇതില്‍ ഒന്നു പോലും നെരത്തെ വാര്‍ഷികാചരണ സമിതി തയ്യാറാക്കിയ ചരിത്ര കല്‍ണ്ടറില്‍ പരാമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഒന്നാം സ്വാതന്ത്യ്‌ര സമര പോരാളികളായ ബീഗം ഹസ്രത്ത്‌ മഹല്‍, കണ്‍വാര്‍ സാഹബ്‌, ഖാസിമാര്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ മുസ്‌ലിം പിന്നോക്ക വര്‍ഗ്ഗ ഗോത്ര നേതാക്കളെയും കര്‍ഷക സമര യോദ്ധാക്കളെയും കലണ്ടര്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി അവഗണിച്ചു.
