Justify my Worship

We have continued to worship the Lord from our early days. However, our personal reasons for doing so is often not discussed.

Since an innocent child
Have I bowed my head

Now, corrupt by reason
Continue the same action

Not for once have I thought
Nor did I care to ask

For what gain-
Is this pain?

Is it the fear of hell
Which rings in me your bell?

Is the love of heaven
Which my heart has woven?

Is it the enjoyment of the State
Like a madman I wander in your estate?

Justify, O the Most Just
Justify this question just

Justify my worship
Before angels me whip

For what gain-
Is this pain?
