O the Merciful Tyrant
I feel safer in the prison of Your fear
Scared I’m of freedom of my own desires
Restrain me with your Love
Set me not free to perish
Oppress me with your Mercy
Let not my Intellect fool me
Be my thirst and hunger,
O ‘my Merciful HIM’
Unquenched and Unfed
I remain forever in your want
Let Your love become my disease
And Your longing the symptom
For ever or more sick I may remain
And never a cure from it I attain
I have sins much beyond my count, yet-
Your infinite Mercy stops me from despair
