The war has begun…
It was expected though….

So what did I or you lose?
Our homes are still safe, isn’t?

So what can we do? So what can(t) we do?

Why were the hawks invited?
Who welcomed these swarms to our lands?

They say-

‘In name of safety,
in the name of security’

But what did they know
Of the price paid so hefty?

Ah! What a time has come-
When Bu Jahl and Bu Lahab
Have self adorned the robe of faith…

Ah! What a time has come-
In the house of faith-full wine
The talk of intoxication is forbidden!

So what can we do? So what can(t) we do?

The hawk and its poodles think changing ‘regimes’
is another snake and ladder game
on the boards of the Oval Office

How ‘noble’ are their imperialist hearts
That they attend the ‘funeral service’
of their own victim.

So what can we do? So what can(t) we do?

Let us still keep our mouth shut
So that our voice goes not out
Of our own shameless hut

Let us still sit in a silent corner
And talk of prayers and fast
While in the land of the enemy
Men and women march in protest!

Let us still hold useless meetings
And exchange with each other greetings
And in the end cowardly conclude
And bear no blame for the brother’s blood!

So what can we do? So what can(t) we do?
