A lover yearns for more time with their beloved, questioning the fleeting nature of their connection, in this poem by Mujeeb Jaihoon.
To a Disheartened Rose
You are a Rose
Burning day and night
All through summer and winter
There is no end to your merciless plight.
I am a Nightingale
Who at morn and evening
Without doing anything
As if from life’s toil
I am sent on bail!
